What's been going on with Global Vintage the last few months....

OK, what's going on with Global Vintage the last few months??

(or where's my order, why haven't you answered my urgent email within 12 hours etc etc)

Well, it's like this.

I went to Japan in early- mid December inc to rural & coastal Kyoto Prefecture. Somewhere I managed to get infected with necrotizing faciitis. through my left hand. It manifested once I got back to Sydney on the 12th. By the evening of Friday 13th December I was in Concord Hospital ED, by midnight they had performed 2 emergency operations & put me into an induced coma.
I was in a coma till Tuesday 16th December. This was followed by a few days in ICU and then a stay in Ward 4E until the 6th January.
Numerous returns have been made to Concord, staying 1-5 nights, day surgery, re-bandaging etc.

The current count for procedures under general anesthetic is 11, with #12 scheduled for this coming Friday 14th. Being a lefty, it means I haven't been able to play guitar or write for 3 months. (or use chopsticks!)

Thanks to the help of a few very good friends,the vast majority of online orders have gone out on time. A few hiccups ,as to be expected, but so it goes. (If you wanna send 14 emails in 12 hours & then leave a 1 star review because you haven't got an answer, that's more a reflection on you than G.V., IMO)

All being well , the coming skin graft will be the last operation needed for months,possibly at all. Then just hand rehab for 4-6 months apparently...

Between rehab appointments,we will attempt to open the doors @ 44 King Street Newtown for pickups, counter sales etc by the end of the month. However, it is still a very small space, so trying pedals for hours just isn't practical, sorry to say.
Google Business listings/ Maps will be updated once I get some idea of what the next few weeks & months hold in store.

Oh & BTW,14th December was the 20th Anniversary of Global Vintage opening! Hopefully, we can have appropriate celebrations for the 25th!
