OK,most important things first, it weighs 2.48kg
Quite literally the only Left handed Gibson Melody Maker from this era I have ever seen, in Real life or pictures. I have owned 20 odd years, but circumstances dictate I move all my guitars on. Such is Life....
The instrument is in stunning condition for it's age and even includes the orig cardboard case it would have shipped with.
As you can see, a chunk of finish is missing on the (lefty) bass side of the neck. Was like that when I got it, no worse now. Has dots on the left handed side of the neck only, as opposed to both sides like most LH Gibsons of the 60s & 70s I have owned or seen. There were clearly dots on the other side at some time, whether they were filled in black at the factory or after, I can't say.
It has the factory-fitted Right Handed Lightning Bolt ,Wound G spec, compensated bridge fitted. If your a lefty with any experience in Vintage Gibsons, this will come as no surprise . You will also know this makes correct intonation virtually impossible. Easy fixed with any number of replacement bridges, but ships with the original.
Original case has band & owners name. but,in a font I can't make out.
The pickguard has never been removed & I'm not really inclined to do it just for the sake of it. Happily remove it after you pay for it & of course, fully refund you if anything is not as it should be in regards to routes, damage etc. Replacement pots are a fact of life, just like tyres would be on a 60 year old car IMO.
